Scripture here is from the New International Version

Exodus 32:32-34
But now, please forgive their sin—but if not, then blot me out of the book you have written.”
The Lord replied to Moses, “Whoever has sinned against me I will blot out of my book. Now go, lead the people to the place I spoke of, and my angel will go before you. However, when the time comes for me to punish, I will punish them for their sin.”

Revelation 3:5
The one who is victorious will, like them, be dressed in white. I will never blot out the name of that person from the book of life, but will acknowledge that name before my Father and his angels.

Revelation 13:8
All inhabitants of the earth will worship the beast—all whose names have not been written in the Lamb’s book of life, the Lamb who was slain from the creation of the world.

Revelation 20:15

Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. The lake of fire is the second death. Anyone whose name was not found written in the book of life was thrown into the lake of fire.

Psalms 69: 27-28
Charge them with crime upon crime; do not let them share in your salvation.

May they be blotted out of the book of life and not be listed with the righteous.

Hebrews 9:27-28

Just as people are destined to die once, and after that to face judgment, so Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many; and he will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him.

Colossians 1:19-20

For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him, and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross.

Romans 1:28

Furthermore, just as they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, so God gave them over to a depraved mind, so that they do what ought not to be done

Romans 10:9-13

If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved. As Scripture says, “Anyone who believes in him will never be put to shame.” For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile—the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him, for, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

John 3:16

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

Isaiah 65:24

Before they call I will answer; while they are still speaking I will hear.

Psalms 19:16

May these words of my mouth and this meditation of my heart

be pleasing in your sight, Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer.

This meditation is focused on the Lamb's (Jesus Christ) Book of Life. It is pulling in a thread across multiple books and authors. My perception is this topic is not really touch on often in contemporary speakers. Perhaps that is because at the core it is a mystery not yet fully revealed.

When we look at it, we must listen to scripture talk. I am going to give the scriptures first (there may be more I did not include) and present my thoughts at the end.

Reflections

The criteria for entering an eternal everlasting relationship with The Father, Son and Holy Spirit is to have one’s name written in the Lamb’s book of life. Those whose names are not found written in the book of life will be thrown into the lake of fire for eternity. Christ, Jesus did the work such that any and all who call on the name of the Lord will be saved. Jesus also “reconciles to himself all things, whether on earth or in heaven, making peace by the blood of his cross.” Names are not written into the Lamb’s book of Life at the point of salvation, they were written before creation, and He sees and responds to our true calls of repentance before we even voice the words.

Willful sin of disbelief and ignoring God’s prompting will lead to a reprobate mind and be the cause of names to be blotted out. We are not told when God will blot out their names. What a glorious God! There is always hope of salvation this side of heaven. God is longsuffering in ways we do not understand. All we can say here on this side of heaven is that a person who is living in the sin of disbelief (being without faith) is to be in mortal danger of having their name blotted out. Dying without faith is to have missed the last opportunity for repentance.

Does this mean that we can knowingly live our lives as we want then at the last moment repent? No. While people have been saved like this to God's glory, that is almost always a disingenuous repentance and faith. True faith is a faith that wants repentance now, to have our minds changed by God now. True salvation results in a person wanting a relationship as soon as possible. Anything else leaves doubt about a person's salvation.

Our hope is in Christ, and Christ alone, as we await His sure return to bring us to Salvation.

In bad form I am going to reference verses not mentioned above. Matthew 21:28–32 Jesus gave us a parable of a son who does the wrong thing, later repents and obeys. Jesus says, this son did the will of the father. You may have disbelieved for many years, but you can repent now and know your sins forgiven. Today won't you be like that son Jesus tells us about who repents and does the will of the father? Please turn to Christ. He died so that you may have salvation, by having your name found in the Lambs Book of Life, and not blotted out.
